Job summary

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte in San Jose, CA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform moderate and high-complexity testing in a busy laboratory, in compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Title X, and state regulations. You will handle pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical steps and ensure accurate, timely reporting.

Requires CA CLS license (ASCP preferred) and 2 years’ CLS experience in a clinical lab.

Qualifications

• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Two years of recent CLS experience in a clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing in compliance with CLIA, OSHA, PPFA, Title X, and state regulations.
• Execute all phases of clinical testing—pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical.
• Conduct molecular assays, including DNA amplification and specialty tests as needed.
• Verify specimens labeling, match worklists, and meet acceptance criteria.
• Enter and release results in LIS with timely reporting to health centers and agencies.
• Maintain documentation for QA, QC, and proficiency testing; document SOPs and maintenance.
