Qualifications

• Minimum one-year work experience performing high complexity testing in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology, or have trained at an approved internship training program.
• Training or work experience must be comprehensive to cover all areas of the clinical laboratory.
• California Code of Registration, Title 17, Section 1032, Clinical Laboratory Scientist (generalist) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the laboratory's procedures for the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow the laboratory's quality control policies and document corrective actions.
• Capable of identifying problems that may affect test performance and notifying supervisor or Medical Director.
• May lead the section or department during shift as Lead Tech and perform duties related to POCT.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in biological science, chemical, physical, biological science, Medical Laboratory Technology and/or equivalent
