Job summary

Regency Hospital - Florence is hiring a Registered Dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy and collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team inside MUSC facility in Florence, SC.

You will assess nutritional needs, develop nutrition plans, and monitor progress, including enteral and parenteral support. The role emphasizes safety, culture considerations, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
• Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
• One (1) year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nutritional care to patients, including development and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapies.
• Collaborate with medical staff, patients, families and food service to implement nutrition care plans.
• Perform nutritional assessments and re-assessments, set goals, and monitor progress.
• Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
• Work with Speech Therapy to progress textured modified diets for safety and intake.
• Clarify admission orders to align nutrition support with diet formulary and manual.
• Consider religious, cultural and ethnic factors in care plans.
• Review and update the therapeutic diet manual annually; educate staff on its location.
• Stay current with nutrition practices; maintain professional development and certifications.
• Evaluate potential food/drug and herb/supplement interactions.
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings to communicate progress and needs.
• Participate in menu development and standardization.
• Perform meal rounds to ensure trays meet prescribed diets and quality standards.
