Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our patient-care team. You will work under the supervision of professional and technical nursing staff to support vital signs, hygiene, elimination, and unit safety, ensuring a high standard of comfort for patients.

This role requires English proficiency, CNA or LVN credentials or active enrollment, BLS, and the ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English
• CNA or LVN or enrolled in accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Approved workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
• Ability to work weekends and holidays

Your Role on the Team

Required Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Required to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
• Nursing Assistants hired prior to May 2010 who did not possess certification as a Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) are not required to obtain it at this time
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English
• Must be Certified Nurses Assist., Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in accredited nursing prog. with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting
• Current BLS certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA)
• Approved workplace violence responder training program within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
