Job summary

Atria is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiograms and stress tests, providing expert assessments for cardiologist review. You will optimize ultrasound image quality and collaborate with physicians to promote patient wellness. The role supports cardiovascular lab operations and may require independent work with minimal supervision.

Required are RDCS or RCS credentials, 5+ years of clinical cardiac experience, BLS/CPR, and CME upkeep. ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Active RDCS or RCS with current credentials.
  • Minimum 5+ years of clinical cardiac experience.
  • Experience in a Lead/Charge role is highly preferred.
  • BLS/CPR current; ACLS preferred.
  • Must maintain CMEs to keep credentials active.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms and exercise stress echocardiograms.
  • Provide expert assessment and preliminary interpretation for review by cardiologist.
  • Optimize image quality using anatomy, physiology, and imaging technique knowledge.
  • Collaborate with clinical team to promote wellness and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain lab operations: equipment, supplies, and logs.
  • Handle ad-hoc duties as needed.

About The Role
  • Performs echocardiograms and exercise stress echocardiograms of a non-invasive nature in accordance with established practices and procedures
  • Provides expert assessment, evaluation and prepares preliminary interpretation and documentation for cardiologist’s review
  • Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning and imaging techniques to optimize the quality of ultrasound images
  • Works collaboratively with the clinical team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes and quality care
  • Assists in the proper functioning of the cardiovascular lab including, but not limited to, maintaining clean equipment and re-stocking the lab with supplies, as necessary
  • This role will be performed independently with minimal supervision
  • Requires troubleshooting technology issues that arise as needed
  • Perform vital sign monitoring and assessment
  • Maintains daily log of patient procedures
  • Performs variety of ad-hoc duties as necessary
  • Experienced with Phillips Ultrasound machines is a plus but not required
Compensation

$70-82/hr based on years of experience

Requirements
  • Certification: Active RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) through ARDMS or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) through CCI.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of clinical cardiac experience. Proven experience in a \"Charge,\" \"Lead,\" or Senior capacity is highly preferred.
  • Life Support: Current BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Maintenance: Must maintain the required CMEs to keep credentials active and in good standing with accrediting bodies.

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to remain calm and precise during emergency \"Code Blue\" situations or in the ICU/OR environment.
