Job summary

UPMC Sports Medicine is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to support our department in a casual per diem role, covering local high schools in Western Pennsylvania. You will conduct assessments, provide rehabilitation, and assist in returning athletes to play, while promoting the Hamot Sports Medicine Center through professional service.

Responsibilities include evaluating progress, educating athletes and families, and marketing the center.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field.
BOC certification and PA licensure required.
Emergency Cardiac Care per AHA standards (CPR/AED).
Act 114/168/33/34 clearances required or in process.

Responsibilities

Assess function and plan rehabilitation with goals and return-to-play recommendations.
Interpret information considering age-specific needs for athletes.
Assist physician with evaluation and treatment of sports injuries.
Document goals and progress in charts and coordinate referrals.
Educate athletes, families, coaches, and community on rehabilitation plans and safety.
Provide coverage at athletic events and offer emergency first aid as needed.
Market the Sports Medicine Center to schools and organizations.
Manage budget aspects of the athletic training program at the school.
Demonstrate commitment to service excellence through timely, accurate care.
