Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or related field with completion of a teacher preparation program.
• Prior experience as an Art Teacher.
• Demonstrated excellence in a variety of art techniques. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capacity to supervise group work. Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate arts-based lessons and creative programming for adults in accordance with program goals and learning objectives.
• Prepare materials, supplies, and program space in advance of each session.
• Provide instruction in art techniques and creative processes (drawing, painting, collage, journaling).
• Teach participants about art and its relationship to wellness in an engaging, inclusive, accessible manner.
• Adapt instruction for participants with varied interests, abilities, and health-related experiences.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and program leadership to support group-based programming.
