Job summary

Atrius Health, part of Optum, seeks a per diem Anatomic Pathologist to cover vacations and absences across our pathology team in eastern Massachusetts.

The role requires an MD/DO with pathology residency and board certification in Anatomic Pathology, with eligibility for Massachusetts licensure. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential for success in this collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completion of accredited pathology residency.
• Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts.
• Experience in both surgical pathology and cytology (preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for routine surgical pathology sign-out during planned absences and vacations.
• Deliver timely, accurate written pathology reports.
• Maintain adherence to turnaround time goals and quality metrics.
• Participate in peer review and quality assurance activities.
• Support laboratory operations in compliance with CAP, CLIA, and regulatory requirements.
