Job summary

Catholic Health in Merrick, NY is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to provide safe, direct patient care in the ambulatory setting, guided by the nursing process and NYS guidelines. The RN will offer clinical leadership and act as a resource for staff within the physician practice.

Responsibilities include triage, administering medications, documenting care, coordinating with MAs and LPNs, patient education, and supporting quality programs while adhering to safety standards and infection

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree from an accredited RN program.
• Current New York State RN license.
• BCLS certification; ACLS where required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in and provides clinical care to patients through interview and observation, evaluation and assessment, intervention, planning and written documentation.
• Greets and welcomes patients; manages patient flow and uses identifiers for safety.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards and physician orders.
• Maintains accurate documentation and communicates effectively with the care team.
• Collaborates with MAs and LPNs; participates in departmental quality improvement activities.
• Provides patient education and supports infection control and safety protocols.
