Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in Huntington, NY, seeks an Ambulatory Care Nurse (Per Diem) to support coordination, integration and evaluation of nursing practice, policies, and patient-centered care plans.

You will participate in quality improvement, collect patient data, administer treatments and medications, educate patients and families, and collaborate with licensed providers to ensure safe, effective care across the ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Professional Nurse in NYS.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Associate Degree may be approved with leadership approval and two years nursing experience.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
• Administers medications (including IV therapy) and vaccines.
• Monitors patient responses and documents in EMR.
• Provides patient and family education on test results and treatment plans.
• Collaborates with licensed providers to determine best treatment plans.
• Directs and delegates to licensed staff to support patient flow.
• Ensures adherence to Patient Safety initiatives and NYULH policies.
