Job summary

SAMGI is seeking a skilled Per Diem Orthopedic Surgeon to join Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, CA. The role features a diverse case mix including general orthopedics, sports injuries, and arthroplasty, with weekly protected OR time and both inpatient rounding and outpatient follow-up.

A California license is preferred and collaboration with a physician-led team is emphasized. Compensation includes a flexible schedule, malpractice and tail coverage, and an attractive overall package

Qualifications

• Board Certification or Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
• Current or recent experience in general orthopedics, acute fractures, and sports injuries
• Arthroplasty competency is a plus
• California Medical License preferred

Responsibilities

• Diverse case mix of acute and elective orthopedic cases focusing on general sports medicine and arthroplasty
• Protected OR time with weekly blocks
• Inpatient rounding at a hospital and outpatient follow-up at a nearby clinic
• 60-minute call back time for emergencies

Who We're Looking For:

• A Board Certified/Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon
  
• A passion for teamwork and the outdoors
  
• Current or recent experience in general orthopedics, acute fractures, and sports injuries
  
• Arthroplasty competency is a plus
  
• California Medical License preferred
  

Position Highlights:

• Diverse Case Mix: A balanced blend of acute and elective orthopedic cases, focusing on general sports medicine and bread-and-butter arthroplasty
  
• Protected OR Time: Weekly OR block time to ensure dedicated surgical hours
  
• Inpatient and Outpatient Care: Inpatient rounding at one hospital and follow-up care at a well-appointed clinic just 5 minutes away
  
• Call Requirements: 60-minute call back time
  

Requirements

• Board Certification or Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
  
• Current or recent experience in general orthopedics, acute fractures, and sports injuries
  
• Competency in arthroplasty is a plus
  
• Possession of or eligibility for a California Medical License
  
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  
• Strong commitment to patient care and outcomes
