Job summary

PEP BOYS / Mavis Tire is seeking full-time General Service Technicians to join our Mystic, CT area service centers. You will perform essential tire and maintenance tasks, working with experienced automotive pros to build hands-on skills and advance within the company.

This role offers paid on-the-job training, competitive weekly pay, and opportunities for career growth in a large automotive network. Prior experience is helpful, but not required, as training is provided.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn in a fast-paced automotive environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and quality service.
• Previous automotive experience is a plus but not required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
• Performing flat tire repairs and oil & filter changes.
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids and inspecting basic maintenance needs.
• Identifying tire and maintenance concerns and maintaining a clean, safe work area.
• Following safety procedures and ensuring timely completion of customer vehicles.

About the General Service Technician Position

As a General Service Technician, you'll perform essential maintenance and tire services that help keep our customers safely on the road. You'll work alongside experienced automotive professionals while developing valuable hands-on skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires
• Performing flat tire repairs
• Completing oil and filter changes
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Following established safety and service procedures
• Helping ensure quality service and timely completion of customer vehicles

Qualifications

To be eligible for the General Service Technician position, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on automotive environment

Previous automotive experience is a plus, but not required. Paid training is provided.

Physical Requirements

General Service Technicians must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with automotive and tire service. Technicians must also be able to regularly lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds.
