Job summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes in Matthews, NC is seeking experienced, full-time Automotive Mechanics to join our service centers. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles, perform maintenance, brakes, tires, and related undercar work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive repair and maintenance experience or training.
• Must have basic hand tools and be able to perform undercar repairs.
• Familiarity with brakes, suspension, tire service, and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Undercar repairs including brakes, suspension, steering.
• Diagnose vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
• Oil/filters changes and fluid checks.
• Replace worn or damaged parts.
• Complete state inspections where applicable.
• Mount/rotate/balance tires.
• Maintain Mavis safety, quality, and customer service standards.

We're looking for experienced, full-time Automotive Mechanics to join Team Mavis at our automotive service, repair, and tire sales centers in the Matthews, NC area.

About the Position

As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll inspect, diagnose, and perform a variety of automotive maintenance and repair services to help keep our customers safely on the road.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, shocks, suspension, and steering


• Diagnosing vehicle maintenance and repair needs


• Performing oil and filter changes and checking fluids


• Replacing worn or damaged parts


• Completing state inspections, where applicable


• Mounting, rotating, and balancing tires


• Maintaining Mavis standards for quality, safety, and customer service

Qualifications

To be eligible, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States


• Have at least 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience


• Have the personal tools necessary to perform automotive and undercar repairs

Preferred

State inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications, including Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Physical Requirements

Automotive Mechanics must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with automotive repair. Mechanics must also be able to regularly lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds.
