Job summary

Pep Boys / Mavis Tire is seeking experienced Automotive Mechanics in the Glen Burnie, MD area to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles at our service centers. Join a growing team with competitive pay, weekly incentives, comprehensive benefits, and strong opportunities for career advancement.

You will perform a range of maintenance tasks, including brakes, suspension, oil changes, tire services, and state inspections, while upholding safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years automotive repair and maintenance experience or training.
• Must have personal tools to perform repairs.
• Preferred ASE certifications (e.g., G1, A4, A5) and state inspection license.

Responsibilities

• Perform undercar repairs including brakes, suspension, steering components.
• Diagnose vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
• Perform oil changes, fluid checks, and part replacements as needed.
• Mount, balance, and rotate tires; maintain tire pressure and alignment checks.
• Complete state inspections where applicable; adhere to Mavis standards.

We're looking for experienced, full-time Automotive Mechanics to join Team Mavis at our automotive service, repair, and tire sales centers in the Glen Burnie, MD area.

About the Position

As an automotive mechanic, you'll inspect, diagnose, and perform a variety of automotive maintenance and repair services to help keep our customers safely on the road.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, shocks, suspension, and steering
• Diagnosing vehicle maintenance and repair needs
• Performing oil and filter changes and checking fluids
• Replacing worn or damaged parts
• Completing state inspections, where applicable
• Mounting, rotating, and balancing tires
• Maintaining Mavis standards for quality, safety, and customer service

Qualifications

To be eligible, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Have at least 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Have the personal tools necessary to perform automotive and undercar repairs

Preferred:

State inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications, including Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Physical Requirements

Automotive Mechanics must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with automotive repair. Mechanics must also be able to regularly lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds.
