Job summary

Pep Boys / Mavis Tire is seeking experienced Automotive Mechanics in the West Warwick, RI area to join our growing team. You will inspect, diagnose, and service a range of vehicles, with opportunities for career growth in a large national network.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old and legally allowed to work in the United States.
• At least 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience and/or training.
• Must have personal tools to perform automotive and undercar repairs.
• State inspection license and ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform a variety of automotive maintenance and repair services.
• Handle undercar repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, and related components.
• Perform oil and filter changes and check fluid levels.
• Replace worn or damaged parts and perform tire mounting/balancing.
• Conduct state inspections where applicable and ensure quality, safety, and customer service standards.
• Help maintain busy service center operations and support teammates.

We're looking for experienced, full-time Automotive Mechanics to join Team Mavis at our automotive service, repair, and tire sales centers in the West Warwick, RI area.

About the Position

As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll inspect, diagnose, and perform a variety of automotive maintenance and repair services to help keep our customers safely on the road.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, shocks, suspension, and steering
• Diagnosing vehicle maintenance and repair needs
• Performing oil and filter changes and checking fluids
• Replacing worn or damaged parts
• Completing state inspections, where applicable
• Mounting, rotating, and balancing tires
• Maintaining Mavis standards for quality, safety, and customer service

Qualifications

To be eligible, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Have at least 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Have the personal tools necessary to perform automotive and undercar repairs

Preferred:

State inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications, including Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Physical Requirements

Automotive Mechanics must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with automotive repair. Mechanics must also be able to regularly lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds.
