Job summary

Lockton Companies in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking summer interns for the People Solutions team to gain hands-on experience in employee benefits consulting. The 10-week program embeds interns in teams, supporting service delivery for clients and learning Lockton tools and resources.

Interns will receive training on employee benefits and the insurance industry, participate in projects such as renewal analyses and RFPs, and build business acumen while developing technical and soft skills.

Qualifications

• Status as a currently enrolled student, scheduled to graduate Spring 2028 or Fall/Winter 2027.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
• Preferred majors are business, insurance, marketing, finance, statistics, or health sciences, however, all majors are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with customer service and/or project management.
• Ability to work both independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Experience working in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Support team with an active book of business for a wide variety of clients.
• Present to a client at a minimum of one meeting.
• Participate in comprehensive training program to learn the fundamentals of employee benefits consulting.
• Assist with various projects such as benefits renewal analysis and requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Support monthly client financial reporting and benchmarking exhibits that compare a client's benefit offering against normative data.
• Become familiar with contracts, communications materials, and company cost sharing strategies.
