Job description

San Mateo, CA, United States People & Talent ID: 40635

Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.

At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.

A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.

The People Science & Analytics team at Roblox supports our People, Places, & Systems group in optimizing the talent lifecycle, including talent identification, data-driven competency development, and the scientific management of learning, development, and well-being across the employee experience. We apply behavioral science and rigorous research methods to shape people strategies, designing evidence-based learning interventions and technical content strategies. We partner closely with internal technical teams to evaluate and guide the use of emerging technologies, including AI and large language models, in our people processes.

Our team delivers a wide range of insights and solutions, from developing industry-leading assessments and conducting job analyses to performing workforce research and building analytics tools. Reporting to the People Scientist Manager, you will join a collaborative team of scientists and data experts contributing to projects that help us understand work, design effective programs, and improve the employee experience.

You will support the team’s research and applied science efforts by helping to collect, organize, and interpret data that informs hiring, development, performance, and culture. Whether assisting with a job analysis, organizing feedback data, summarizing research findings, or supporting a validation study, your work will ensure our People programs are grounded in evidence and built for impact. This role is ideal for someone eager to begin their career in applied behavioral science, learn from experienced scientists, and contribute to meaningful projects that shape how work gets done at Roblox.

You Will:
  • Contribute to applied research. Support projects focused on job analysis, assessment design, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist in data collection and preparation. Gather, organize, and clean data from surveys, interviews, and other sources to ensure high-quality research inputs.
  • Support qualitative research activities. Help run or document interviews, focus groups, and think-aloud sessions; code and summarize open-ended responses using structured rubrics.
  • Help evaluate and improve tools. Contribute to the review and validation of people-related tools and processes, including assessments, surveys, and pilot programs.
  • Summarize research and evidence. Locate relevant academic or applied research, synthesize findings, and create concise summaries to support project design.
  • Collaborate across teams. Partner with People Scientists, engineers, and data specialists to ensure research and program efforts are well-executed.
  • Learn and grow. Build hands‑on experience applying behavioral and social science in a dynamic, high‑impact technology environment.
  • Design and deploy data‑driven learning programs and technical content. Create structured learning experiences that address specific competency gaps and organizational needs.
  • Optimize learner engagement. Leverage behavioral science principles to improve knowledge retention and the effectiveness of development initiatives.
  • Analyze learning outcomes and platform analytics. Use data to iterate on curriculum design and evaluate overall training effectiveness.
You Are:
  • Required: Master’s degree in Behavioral Science, Learning Science, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field emphasizing human behavior, instructional design, and organizations.
  • Foundational knowledge of research design and analysis, with exposure to both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Familiarity with topics such as job analysis, performance measurement, surveys, and program evaluation.
  • Comfort working with data and spreadsheets, and curiosity about learning new tools and methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in research and documentation.
  • Clear, organized communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.
  • Comfort working in dynamic, technology-driven environments and partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • A strong sense of curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset, with motivation to learn, contribute, and continuously improve your craft.
  • Technical content development. Proficiency in instructional design and familiarity with e-learning platforms or digital learning tools.
