Job summary

Trees for the Future is seeking a People & Operations Manager in Washington, DC to enable the People & Culture function across the U.S. This role blends people operations, project management, systems administration, and workplace operations to build scalable processes and deliver an exceptional staff experience.

You will own day-to-day People Operations for U.S.-based employees, manage onboarding and lifecycle processes, benefits, Board governance support, and partner with leaders to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Six or more years of experience in People Operations or related field.
• Experience administering U.S. employee lifecycle processes and benefits.
• Experience administering People systems (e.g., Rippling).
• Demonstrated ability to lead operational or cross‑functional projects.
• Ability to improve workflows and document processes.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day People Operations for U.S.-based employees.
• Administer onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
• Manage U.S. benefits administration and payroll/vendor relationships.
• Partner with leaders to implement systems, processes, and initiatives.
• Coordinate Board and governance logistics and materials.
• Oversee U.S. workplace operations and procurement with vendors.
