Job summary

BW Packaging (Barry-Wehmiller) seeks a skilled Leader of People Operations to drive onboarding, employee relations, and compliance across manufacturing sites in Kentucky and beyond. You will partner with People Business Partners and leaders to deliver consistent processes, strengthen policy application, and ensure legal alignment.

You will lead a team, oversee Workday transactions, and guide investigations, performance cycles, and safety/compliance initiatives, while maintaining a strong focus

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of experience in HR or People Operations.
• Strong experience in employee relations, compliance and HR operations.
• Experience leading teams and managing day‑to‑day People Operations delivery.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
• Experience working in manufacturing or multi‑site environments preferred.
• Experience with Workday or similar HR systems.
• Flexibility to take on evolving responsibilities in response to strategic priorities and business needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own execution of onboarding, offboarding, and core People processes across teams and locations.
• Oversee HR workflows and data integrity in HRIS/Workday environment.
• Ensure team member records and compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
• Manage employee lifecycle processes including terminations and exit interviews.
• Oversee investigations and disciplinary actions with proper documentation.
• Coordinate recruiting and candidate communication for manufacturing roles.
• Support performance management cycles and leader enablement.
• Ensure alignment of policies and practices with federal, state and local laws.
