Job description

About the Company

At Flow, we're reimagining what it means to live, work, and connect. More than just a real estate company, Flow is a brand, a technology platform, and an operations ecosystem spanning condominiums, hotels, multifamily residences, and office spaces. We're building a new kind of living experience: one that’s flexible, connected, and designed to create genuine community and real value for the people who call Flow home.

Our mission is oneness: prioritizing our residents and their experiences, and fostering connection with ourselves, their neighbors, and the natural world. By putting people at the center of everything we do, we're creating vibrant, human-centered communities where life, work, creativity, and play all come together in one place.

About the Role

This is a high-visibility, high-autonomy role for an experienced People professional who wants to be a true partner to the business. As Flow's People Business Partner supporting our corporate organization, you'll partner with leaders and employees across multiple functions, levels, and locations, including both in-office and remote employees across the country.

You'll work closely with corporate leaders to understand their teams, anticipate People needs, and translate business priorities into effective People strategies. You'll coach managers through complex situations, lead employee relations matters, support performance and talent initiatives, and help build the structure, accountability, and culture needed as Flow continues to scale.

This role requires someone who can move seamlessly between strategy and execution. One day you may be coaching a leader through a sensitive employee situation, and the next you may be analyzing organizational trends, supporting a team restructure, or developing a People initiative to address a broader business need.

If you're someone who builds trust quickly, operates comfortably in ambiguity, spots problems before they escape, and takes ownership without waiting to be asked, this role is for you.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted People partner to Flow's corporate organization, supporting employees and leaders across multiple functions, states, and levels of the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders to understand their organizations, business priorities, talent needs, and team dynamics, providing proactive People guidance and solutions.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management, feedback, employee development, team effectiveness, organizational changes, and difficult employee conversations.
  • Lead employee relations matters end-to-end, including investigations, conflict resolution, performance concerns, corrective action, and risk mitigation, ensuring matters are handled consistently and thoughtfully.
  • Partner with leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, role clarity, team structure, and other People decisions as the organization continues to grow and evolve.
  • Support the performance management lifecycle, helping leaders set clear expectations, address performance concerns early, and recognize and develop high-performing employees.
  • Partner on employee engagement, retention, talent development, and culture initiatives, identifying trends and proactively recommending solutions.
  • Use People data and organizational insights: turnover, engagement, performance, and employee trends, to identify opportunities and influence People and business decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting, People Operations, Payroll, Benefits, Legal, Finance, and other teams to ensure a consistent and seamless employee experience.
  • Support onboarding and integration of corporate employees and leaders, helping ensure new hires understand Flow's culture, expectations, and ways of working.
  • Help develop, implement, and continuously improve People programs, policies, processes, and manager resources as Flow scales.
  • Support change management and communication efforts related to organizational changes, new People programs, policies, and company initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment requirements and partner with the appropriate teams to ensure compliant and consistent People practices across our U.S. employee population.
  • Serve as a visible and accessible member of the People team, building trust with both in-office and remote employees.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive HR/People experience, ideally as an HR Business Partner, People Business Partner, or similar role supporting corporate teams.
  • Strong experience with employee relations, performance management, manager coaching, and organizational changes.
  • Experience supporting employees and leaders across multiple functions, levels, and U.S. states, including remote and in-office populations.
  • Confident communicator who can effectively partner with senior leaders while remaining approachable and trusted by employees.
  • Comfortable operating with high autonomy in a fast-paced, evolving environment while remaining collaborative and solutions-oriented.
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-state employment practices with excellent judgment, organization, and follow-through.
  • Experience in a high-growth environment/Startups is a plus.
What Success Looks Like

Within six months, you've become a trusted People partner to Flow's corporate leaders and employees. Leaders involve you early, not just when an issue has already escalated, because they trust your judgment and know you understand their business.

You've built strong relationships across our corporate organization and have a clear understanding of the different teams, their priorities, talent, and challenges. You're proactively identifying People needs and bringing solutions forward rather than waiting for problems to surface.

Managers are becoming stronger because of your partnership. Performance concerns are being addressed earlier and more consistently, employee relations matters are handled thoughtfully, and leaders have greater clarity around expectations, accountability, and team development.

Most importantly, you've created leverage for the broader People team by independently owning the day-to-day People partnership for the corporate organization while helping us build the programs, processes, and infrastructure needed to support Flow as we continue to scale.
