The Program

STRATA supports FCNL’s grassroots network, including the following programs:

Advocacy Teams — FCNL’s Advocacy Teams build relationships with members of Congress and the media to advance campaigns for peace and justice in Congress. Teams organize in their local communities and connect through a national network of advocates. As of August 2025, 135 Advocacy Teams span all 50 states plus Washington, D.C., and include more than 1,500 participants. Advocacy Team members include Quakers and friends who volunteer their time to lobby Congress on peace and justice legislation.

Advocacy Corps — A 10-month program in which young adults ages 19–30 are paid to organize their local communities around federal legislation. Advocacy Corps organizers connect local activists and leaders with their members of Congress to create meaningful, long-term change. During the program, organizers learn critical organizing skills and put them into practice through hands‑on leadership experience.

Campus Chapters — Engage college, university, and high school communities in year‑round peace and justice advocacy and civic learning. Students receive training and ongoing support from FCNL staff on how to influence key policy issues, from militarism in U.S. foreign policy to domestic needs here in the United States.

Diaspora Program— Trains Diaspora advocates to work in their own communities with support from FCNL and organize constituents to lobby Congress.
