Qualifications

• Experience with scripting or automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to support testing workflows.
• Self-directed and capable of managing engagements independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration tests across various environments.

• Collaborate with Silpa project leads to scope engagements, set timelines, and define deliverables.
• Follow rules of engagement and maintain strict confidentiality and data handling protocols throughout each engagement.
• Support clients with remediation validation testing upon request.
• Stay current on emerging attack techniques, CVEs, threat actor TTPs, and offensive security tooling.

Role Description

Silpa Secure is seeking an experienced Penetration Tester to deliver project-based offensive security assessments for our clients. This is a contract, project-based engagement focused on identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities across network, application, and cloud environments. You will work directly with client stakeholders and Silpa's internal delivery team to scope, execute, and report on penetration testing engagements that drive measurable security improvement. This role is ideal for a technically sharp practitioner who thrives on independent work and delivering high-quality, client-ready findings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct network, web application, mobile, cloud, and/or social engineering penetration tests based on client scope.
• Perform manual and automated vulnerability identification, exploitation, and post-exploitation activities.
• Develop comprehensive, executive-ready and technical penetration test reports with clear risk ratings, findings, and remediation recommendations.
• Communicate findings directly to client technical and leadership stakeholders during debriefs.
• Collaborate with Silpa project leads to scope engagements, set timelines, and define deliverables.
• Follow rules of engagement and maintain strict confidentiality and data handling protocols throughout each engagement.
• Support clients with remediation validation testing upon request.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven hands-on experience conducting penetration tests across network infrastructure, web applications, APIs, and/or cloud environments.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Nessus, Cobalt Strike, BloodHound, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, PTES, and NIST frameworks.
• Ability to write clear, structured, client-ready reports with actionable remediation guidance.
• Experience with scripting or automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to support testing workflows.
• Self-directed and capable of managing engagements independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Eligibility Requirements

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Candidates located in the Houston, Texas area will be given preference; however, remote practitioners will also be considered.
• Reliable, secure internet connection and ability to travel to client sites when required by engagement scope.
• Available to begin engagements within a standard mobilization window and responsive during project duration.
