Job summary

Milliken & Company's Pendleton Finishing Plant is seeking a Predictive Maintenance Technician to develop and execute the PdM program, support ISO calibration, and ensure PM compliance. You will use condition monitoring, CMMS, and AI-assisted tools to evaluate equipment health, identify reliability risks, and drive data-driven maintenance decisions.

  • Utilize predictive maintenance software and AI-assisted analytics to evaluate equipment health.

Predictive Maintenance Technician
SHIFT / WORK HOURS

1st Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Occasional work outside normal hours, including weekends, may be required to support critical equipment, shutdowns, or emergency maintenance activities.

PAY LEVEL

Based on previous work experience, technical skills, education, certifications, and demonstrated knowledge. Technician or CET pay level depending on qualifications and Milliken curriculum requirements.

SHIFT PREMIUM

This position is not eligible for shift premium.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Predictive Maintenance Technician develops, executes, and continuously improves equipment the Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Program while supporting the ISO calibration requirements and Preventive Maintenance (PM) compliance. Using condition monitoring technologies, CMMS, and AI-assisted diagnostic tools, this role evaluates equipment health, identifies reliability risks, and supports data-driven maintenance decisions that improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, extend asset life, and enhance plant safety. This position primarily supports the Pendleton Finishing Plant and may provide support to other Milliken facilities as needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, schedule, perform, and document predictive maintenance inspections including:
  • Vibration Analysis, Infrared Thermography, Ultrasonic Inspection, Steam Trap Surveys, Compressed Air Leak Surveys, Mechanical Equipment Condition Audits
  • Perform predictive maintenance inspections on designated assets on appropriate frequency.
  • Collect, analyze, trend, and interpret equipment condition data to identify:
  • Bearing wear, Misalignment, Imbalance, Mechanical looseness, Lubrication deficiencies, Electrical faults, Thermal abnormalities, Air and steam losses
  • Utilize predictive maintenance software, CMMS, digital inspection tools, and AI-assisted analytics to evaluate equipment health and recommend maintenance priorities.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports documenting findings, severity rankings, recommended corrective actions, and equipment condition trends.
  • Create work orders for corrective actions and coordinate with maintenance team, supervisors, and operations personnel to schedule repairs during PMs, shutdowns or opportunistic downtime.
  • Track or monitor corrective action completion, equipment condition scores, PM Program schedule compliance, Asset reliability improvements, Downtime reduction, and Maintenance cost savings.
  • Maintain historical equipment records to support long‑term reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Assist Engineering Services with reliability continuous improvement projects.
ISO CALIBRATION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain compliance with Milliken Engineering Services ISO requirements including:
  • Equipment calibration, Calibration verification, Out‑of‑tolerance investigations, Documentation compliance, Plant calibration standards, Confined space gas detector calibration, and Preventive Maintenance completion tracking
  • Critical calibration responsibilities include:
  • Digital multimeters, Process instrumentation, Yardage clocks, Beta gauges, Plant scales, Additional calibrated process equipment as assigned
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT
  • Support preventive maintenance activities during major equipment repairs, plant shutdowns, or periods of increased maintenance demand.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a strong commitment to Milliken's safety culture by Following all plant safety procedures,
  • Participating in safety observations and continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining proper PPE compliance, Following Lockout/Tagout procedures, Following Arc Flash requirements , Supporting confined space compliance, Identifying and communicating equipment safety concerns
REQUIRED PPE
  • Hearing Protection (designated areas)
  • Steel Toe, Slip Resistant, Waterproof, EH‑rated Safety Boots
  • Safety Gloves (required when task dictates)
  • Safety Glasses
  • Goggles (when required)
  • Category 2 / 70E Arc Flash PPE when working on energized equipment over 48V
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance.

  • Be capable of documenting technical findings through written reports.
  • Participate actively in Milliken's safety culture.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree with demonstrated mechanical skill set in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology , or a related field; or
  • Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience involving predictive maintenance and reliability technologies such as Lubrication training, Level 2 vibration, level 2 ultrasonics, level 1 to 2 Infra-Red, Bearing training, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and CMMS.
