Job summary

Columbia Community Mental Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join the Outpatient Addictions Department in Saint Helens, Oregon. You will provide peer-based support to individuals across age groups as assigned by a supervisor or administrator, contributing to the integrated care team in a community clinic setting.

The role requires a QMHP-designee or Peer Specialist certification, a bachelor’s degree in social services, and 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services field required.
• 1-3 years related work experience preferred.
• Peer Support Specialist certification by Oregon or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer-based, supportive services to adults, children, adolescents, and families as assigned by a QMHP, Clinical Supervisor or Administrator.
• Work as part of an integrated care team across programs such as ACT, Crisis, Intensive Services, Outpatient, Jail Diversion, Wrap, Residential or Detox.

Columbia Community Mental Health is a nonprofit agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that provides services to individuals with mental, addiction and developmental disabilities.

Outpatient Addictions Department (OPAS)

Shift

Monday - Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Individual schedules can be determined with supervisor and within business needs/hours.

Salary Range

$28.97 to $37.46 (hourly). There are 15 steps on our salary scale. We use a bona fide factor system to determine starting wage (years of experience, education, credentials, and specialty skills that relate to the job requirements).

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social services field required and/or ability to be qualified as a QMHA preferred. 1-3 years related work experience preferred. History of working cooperatively in a team. Must have a Peer Support Specialist or Peer Wellness Specialist certification by the State of Oregon or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months. Combination of education/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position may be considered.

Summary

The Peer Support Specialist, as part of an integrated care team, will provide peer-based, supportive services to adults, children, adolescents, and families as assigned by a designated QMHP, Clinical Supervisor or Administrator. The Peer Support Specialist may be assigned to any agency program including, but not limited to: ACT, Crisis, Intensive Services, Outpatient, Jail Diversion, Wrap, Residential or Detox. Essential duties may vary per location/department/position.
