Resources for Human Development (RHD) is hiring a Peer Support Specialist in New Castle, Delaware. This role focuses on recovery-oriented peer support for individuals facing mental health and/or substance use challenges.

Paid training is provided and DailyPay is available. The position emphasizes compassionate, patient, and team-oriented professionals who promote independence, dignity, and community integration.

Qualifications

• CPRS certification is required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Experience supporting individuals with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions.
• Utilize lived experience to promote recovery, resilience, hope, and self-determination.
• Assist individuals in developing coping skills, wellness strategies, and recovery goals.
• Facilitate peer-led recovery groups and support activities.
• Support individuals in achieving goals related to housing, employment, education, and community integration.
• Assist in the development and implementation of person-centered treatment and recovery plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
• Advocate for individuals receiving services and support self-advocacy efforts.
• Engage individuals through outreach, relationship building, and ongoing support.
