  • Accompanying clients to medical appointments.
  • Providing non-clinical crisis support after hospitalization or incarceration.
  • Working with clients to identify strengths.
  • Linking clients to formal recovery supports.
  • Educating clients about various modes of recovery they will experience.
  • Travel training – informing clients about local transportation options.

St. Joseph's Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers

Location: Saranac Lake Outpatient Clinic - Saranac Lake, NY

Position: Full-time Peer Support Specialist

Shift/Schedule: Varies, not to exceed 40 hours/week

Pay Range: $18.50/hour to $21.00/hour

Position Summary

Provides coordination of peer support services through the certification of CRPAs or CRPA-P services for all seeking assistance.

Education and Training

High School Diploma and CRPA/CRPA-P Certification.

Experience and Work Knowledge

Experience working with diverse population and outside community sources. Detail oriented with professional communication skills. Proficient in word processing/computer operations and telephone systems.
