Job summary

LaSante Health Center seeks a full-time or per diem Peer Support Specialist to guide youth and adults with mental health needs. Use lived experience and peer training to help individuals build coping skills, navigate systems of care, and pursue recovery and personal goals.

Responsibilities include promoting self-advocacy, connecting clients with community resources, and collaborating with care teams to support comprehensive, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• New York State Youth Peer Advocate or Certified Peer Specialist certification (training and credentialing support available for qualified candidates)
• Lived experience with mental health, recovery, or system involvement strongly encouraged
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to engage, motivate, and support both youth and adults
• Bilingual preferred
