Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Oregon is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to work with individuals under clinical supervision, delivering direct services, and coordinating with wraparound teams. You will help develop recovery skills, provide guidance on independent living, and assist in community integration.

The role requires a Peer Support Specialist certification (OHA) or within 1 year of hire, and a valid Oregon driver’s license with acceptable driving history. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the QMHP in providing direct services to individuals.

  • Support coordination and linkage with community agencies.
  • Complete service notes, billing logs, and other required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Fulfill CEU requirements and facilitate therapeutic recreation activities.
  • Develop and support a consumer-chosen team of supporters and facilitate meetings.
  • Offer skill-building tools for independent living, transportation, and community functioning.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and supervision as required.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the clinical supervisor.

Job description

Position Overview:Peer Support Specialists providing direct services or supports shall receive documented clinical supervision by a qualified clinical supervisor related to the development, implementation, and outcome of services.Peer Support Specialists shall receive at least two hours per month of clinical supervision. The two hours shall include one hour of individual face-to-face supervision. Part-time staff should receive supervision prorated to reflect the average number of hours worked. Half the total supervision required may be accomplished through group supervision. Individual face-to face contact may include real time, two-way audio, or audio-visual conferencing.Duties:Assist the QMHP in providing direct services to individuals.Provide information to QMHP or wraparound teams with observed individual progress.Support coordination and linkage efforts with community agencies.Complete individual service notes, billing logs, and other required paperwork in a timely manner.Fulfill CEU requirements.Facilitate therapeutic recreation activities.When indicated, develop a team of supporters chosen by the consumer, and facilitate regular meetings with this team.Provide individuals with skill-building tools designed to increase understanding ways to recover and ability to function at home, work, school, and in the community. These skills include:Independent living skills, such as money management, household skills, crisis management/planning, use of public transportation, social skills, and navigating the mental health system;Accessing employment opportunities, or ways to contribute to others or the community; andDeveloping ability to advocate for oneself, including communicating with the services and supports team regarding problems or concerns.Attend scheduled meetings and supervision, as required.Perform other related duties and tasks assigned by the clinical supervisor.Minimum Qualification:Background check. This job requires use of a personal vehicle: a per mile reimbursement of driving expenses is provided.Continuous Abstinence. A PSS recovering from a substance use disorder and providing peer support services in the Recovery Program must be able to document continuous abstinence under independent living conditions or recovery housing for the immediate past two years.Certification as a Peer Support Specialist through OHA, Oregon Health Authority, or obtained within 1 year of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Completed and maintained Peer Support Specialist certification through Oregon Health Authority with training in mental health and/or addictions.Experience providing peer support.Bilingual, in particular the ability to speak Spanish. A differential may be provided if part of the position.
