Job summary

USC Healthy Minds in Clarksburg, WV, seeks a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to guide individuals with Substance Use Disorders in WVU Medicine settings. You will help link patients to outpatient treatment, mentor through life experience, and collaborate with the treatment team to support recovery.

Qualifications include a HS diploma, state/national PRSS certification within 90 days, CPRS/PRSS credentials, and background checks. Preference given to valid driver’s license and CCAR ED coaching.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification within 90 days.
• PRSS-SUD WV or CPRS MD certification as applicable.
• State/federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Work with patients with Substance Use Disorders and link to outpatient treatment.
• Provide mentoring through life experience to individuals in recovery.
• Meet with individuals/families in person or by phone as needed.
• Develop and monitor individualized wellness plans with patients.
• Share information with the treatment team to guide decisions.
• Connect patients to housing, education, recovery supports, and services.
• Liaise with referral sources, family, sponsors, and providers.
• Maintain relationships with WVU Medicine staff and partners to promote recovery.
• Assist patients in crisis situations involving social or health problems.

The recovery coach supports patients by assisting them with identifying treatment needs, developing, maintaining, and monitoring individualized treatment plans, and supporting patients to remain in treatment. The recovery coach’s duties include providing outreach, support, recovery check-ups on site in treatment settings, in the community and functioning as part of a treatment team.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:****EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:**1. High School Diploma or Equivalent 2. Completion of state or nationally recognized Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification training within 90 days of hire date.3. Maintain working relationships with WVU Medicine treatment staff and other agencies or institutions in order provide awareness of recovery as a reality and the availability of recovery coaching.9.
