Community Health Resources (CHR) is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist for the REST Center in Willimantic. This full-time role provides crisis stabilization and recovery-focused care, including assessments, individualized treatment plans, skills coaching, and collaboration with the client’s support network.
You will work Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with a collaborative, trauma-informed team and access to tuition assistance, wellness programs, and staff development opportunities.

The REST Center is a 24/7 community-based crisis stabilization program that provides a safe and supportive alternative to hospitalization for individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use-related crises. The center offers short-term assessment, stabilization, nursing support, brief therapeutic interventions, peer support, medication evaluation, and connection to ongoing community services. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused care. The goal is to help individuals stabilize, avoid unnecessary emergency department visits or hospitalizations, and successfully transition to the most appropriate level of care.
Education: Lived experience establishing and maintaining recovery from mental health or substance use condition(s) as required by position.
Experience: 2+ years working with identified populations and specifically as an CPSRP (formerly RSS) preferred. Self identifies as an individual with mental health and or substance use disorder in long term recovery.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Peer Support & Recovery Specialist (CPSRP) from Advocacy Unlimited, Recovery Coach Certification from CCAR, or an equivalent certification related to the field of Recovery Support required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Valid Driver’s License required.
