Johns Hopkins Medicine seeks a Peer Recovery Coach to support patients with substance use disorders within a hospital setting. You will use lived recovery experience to mentor, motivate, and connect patients to treatment and community supports, both during hospitalization and after discharge.
You will engage patients in recovery planning, provide follow-up, and collaborate with care teams to reduce relapse risk and promote ongoing engagement in care.
Under the supervision of Care Coordination and the Peer Recovery Coach Supervisor, the Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) provides direct support to patients with substance use disorders. The PRC uses lived recovery experience to serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator, helping patients reduce relapse risk and build long-term recovery. This role works as part of the interdisciplinary SUDs team, using SBIRT and motivational interviewing to engage patients, develop recovery plans, and connect them to treatment and community support services. The PRC also provides follow-up support after discharge to encourage continued engagement in care.

Salary Range: Minimum 22.33/hour - Maximum 36.86/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
