Job summary

Comanche Nation Prevention & Recovery in Lawton, OK seeks a Part-Time Peer Recovery Support role to supervise and assist residential clients with AOD and co-occurring disorders. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays, up to 29 hours weekly; the position requires High School Diploma and willingness to obtain PRSS and CPR/First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass background checks.

  • Comfortable working with Federally Recognized Tribes and tribal community members.
  • Willing to obtain PRSS and First Aid/CPR training.

24/7 Facility – Shifts will vary. Will include evening, weekends and/or holidays.

Part-Time: up to 29 hours weekly

POSITION SUMMARY:Will be responsible for providing supervision, support, guidance, assistance and etc. to residential clients who are in Residential care for Alcohol Use Disorder, Substance Use Disorder, Opioid Use Disorder, and/or Co-Occurring Disorders. Must be willing to get certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, as well as getting CPR/1st aid certification, and other certifications, as needed. Will also provide minimal general office/clerical support to include, but not limited to, telecommunications, queries, correspondences, reporting, filing and etc. Must be willing to adhere to funding requirements as CNP&R/Reintegration has various funding agencies/sources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain a positive, professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively with Comanche Nation Prevention & Recovery/Reintegration colleagues, colleagues of Comanche Nation and its entities, clients, prospective clients, tribal members, and community members.
  • Provide supervision, support, guidance, assistance and etc. to clients in accordance with the Residential Treatment Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a calm, composed, and competent demeanor in an emergency and/or crisis situation/demand.
  • Be familiar with all client services within the department and Nation to provide information and/or assistance when needed
  • Transport, with safe driving practices, of clients to scheduled meetings, appointments, activities, and etc.
  • Willing to facilitate curriculum related to topics of addiction, relapse prevention, and etc.
  • Report and keep management apprised of issues, problems, complaints and/or concerns expressed.
  • Monitor, Report and utilize OPUS for client behavior, participation, complaints, concerns, issues, and etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of area(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO:

Will report to Prevention and Recovery Inpatient Director and/or Lead Peer Recovery Aide. No supervisory authority.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle, Hearing and vision in normal range, with or without corrections.
  • Employee must be able to move and lift at least 5lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Professional and confidential as majority of work will be in a Residential Facility and office setting. Occasional outreach activities and community events.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Multitasking/Time Management - Ability to complete multiple tasks given and complete within given deadlines.
  • Organizational Skills- Schedule appointments, if needed, give direction/information, and organization of area.
  • Initiative - Ability to take action.
  • Experience/Knowledge of 12-step and/or similar recovery programming.
  • Experience working with Federally Recognized Tribes and/or organizations.
  • Be willing to obtain PRSS and First Aid/CPR training
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable under the Nation’s policy.
  • Must be willing to submit and pass a drug test,
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check.
  • Preference given to Comanche Tribal Members
Education:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
