ACMH Inc. is looking for a Peer Program Specialist to provide direct service to clients in their supportive apartments. This role involves teaching essential life skills, monitoring clients' living conditions, and assisting with recovery goals through personal experience.
The ideal candidate should have lived experience receiving mental health services and strong communication skills. The position is weekday-based from 9:00am to 5:00pm, offering a supportive environment for both clients and staff.
Lived experience as a consumer of mental health, substance use, and homeless services is required
Reports to: Program Director
Function: Provides direct service to clients in their homes, assisting with training in skills of daily living.
Schedule: Mondays through Fridays (9:00am-5:00pm)
Tasks:
Lived experience receiving mental health services such as past or current participant of behavioral health, substance or homeless services; commitment to assist others in attaining their mental health recovery goals in part through sharing own personal lived experiences. Completion of or on track to receive New York Certified Peer Program (NYCPS) certification preferred. High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Basic computer and data entry skills.
Peer Program Specialist (Scattered Site) Certified – FT Salary: $49,192 plus generous benefits
Peer Program Specialist (Scattered Site) Non-certified – FT Salary: $48,672 plus generous benefits
