BHMG Baptist Health Medical Group Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic with a retention bonus for qualified hires.

The role includes managing the EPIC EMR, scheduling appointments, processing medication requests, and coordinating tests and procedures. Responsibilities may expand to EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, or vaccines after clinical competency is demonstrated.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a medical setting.
• Experience with direct patient care: vital signs, documenting history and medications, clinical procedures.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands-on patient care.
• Upon hire, clinical competency assessment and MA orientation; trainee program if needed.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience a plus; BLS within 90 days.
• BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days.
• Preferred: CMA certification or graduate of LPN/RN program with licensure.

Responsabilités

• Obtain vital signs and document patient history.
• Provide direct patient care and support clinical workflows.
• Manage EPIC electronic health record and schedule appointments.
• Process medication requests and prior authorizations; coordinate tests/procedures.
• May perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections or vaccines after competency.
• Support providers and ensure smooth patient flow in outpatient clinic.
