Job summary

Responsibilities include communicating across departments, maintaining medical records, performing triage, providing nursing care, preparing exam and lab areas, administering vaccines and medications, and upholding HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer CMA/RMA with 2 years of experience.
• If no experience, requires 2 recommendations from faculty/extern program.
• Office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of approved medical abbreviations and correct spelling in English.
• Ability to work with non-cooperative patients and those with psychosocial/health problems.
• Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
• Prolonged use of telephone may be required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with clinical, clerical and billing departments, providers, patients and families to ensure continuity of care.
• Completes and maintains medical records and documents.
• Performs telephone triage utilizing approved protocols.
• Provides general nursing care to patients.
• Maintains exam rooms and lab area; stocks and cleans rooms and maintains supplies.
• Administers and documents medications, vaccines, and treatments.
• Maintains confidentiality; adheres to HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
• Coordinates scheduling of preventive well visits when applicable.
