Qualifications

  • Up-to-date knowledge of drugs/medications for children and associated side-effects.
  • Experienced with traditional and web-based prescription systems.
  • Demonstrates active listening skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems in clinical settings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an informed diagnosis based on medical history and clinical assessment.
  • Perform thorough examinations on newborns and children to monitor health and development.
  • Diagnose conditions, ask questions to uncover symptoms, and discuss findings with families.
  • Assess and treat injuries, refer to specialists when needed.
  • Inform parents about diet, exercise, and disease prevention for children.
  • Recommend and interpret lab tests to identify infections or defects.
  • Dispense vaccines in line with governmental guidelines.
  • Prescribe medications with clear usage instructions.
  • Maintain confidential medical records of illnesses, surgeries, and events.
  • Engage in professional development to stay current in pediatric medicine.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Job Purpose:
Delivers quality healthcare based on an extensive knowledge and thorough understanding of childhood diseases and epidemiology, establishes trust with patients and family members to facilitate professional medical relationships focused on maintaining good health and effectively treating and preventing diseases and illnesses.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. We welcome providers at all experience levels and offer extensive on-site training and support to help new clinicians successfully transition into pediatric practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop an informed diagnosis based on technical knowledge and the child’s medical history.
  2. Performs thorough examinations on newborns and children to monitor and record their health and physical development.
  3. Diagnose a sick child’s medical condition by performing a thorough examination together with learning of symptoms through in-depth questioning.
  4. Assess and treat injuries and if appropriate, recommend the child to other physicians based on their medical situation.
  5. Inform parents on children’s diet, exercise, and disease preventive measures.
  6. Recommend and interpret appropriate lab tests results to identify potential infections and/or defects.
  7. Dispense vaccines in accordance with applicable governmental guidelines.
  8. Prescribe and provide clear instructions for the use of medications.
  9. Maintain updated confidential records of child’s illnesses, surgeries, and other medical events.
  10. Participate in professional development activities to stay up with Pediatric medical advancements and best practices.
  11. Performs related duties as required.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Comprehensive knowledge of children epidemiology and infectious diseases.
  2. Highly skilled in the application of diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation principles and techniques.
  3. Up-to-date knowledge of drugs/medication appropriate for children and their side-effects.
  4. Experienced in traditional and web-based prescription systems.
  5. Demonstrates active listening skills.
  6. Ability to diagnose and problem-solve.
  7. Superbly adept in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
Licensure Requirements:
Hold an active North Carolina license to practice medicine with a specialty in Pediatrics
