Community Health Alliance in Reno, NV is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatrician to join a Patient-Centered Medical Home Care Team, providing outpatient pediatric care and preventive services in a collaborative environment.

You will work with nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health professionals, social workers, and other team members to deliver comprehensive care, with emphasis on family‑centered, accessible services and community impact.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified in Pediatrics and eligible for hospital privileges.
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric assessments and examinations.

Community Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and dedicated Board-Certified Pediatrician to join our growing Care Team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive pediatric care in a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) environment while building lasting relationships with children and their families.

At CHA, we believe every child deserves access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare. Our providers work collaboratively with nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health professionals, social services, and other members of the Care Team to address the whole patient—not just a diagnosis.

The Pediatrician provides comprehensive outpatient medical services to pediatric patients on a continuing basis in the ambulatory setting. As a member of an interdisciplinary Care Team, the Pediatrician is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing a broad range of acute and chronic pediatric conditions while emphasizing preventive care and the overall health and well-being of each child.

Requirements

Essential Functions

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other conditions within the scope of pediatric practice.
• Provide age‑appropriate preventive care, screenings, immunizations, and health assessments.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to medical and surgical emergencies.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and therapies as clinically appropriate.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Provide appropriate referrals and follow‑up care.
• Educate children and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, nutrition, wellness, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Promote preventive healthcare and early identification of health concerns.
• Communicate complex medical information in a manner that is understandable, respectful, and culturally appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health professionals, social workers, and other members of the Care Team.
• Participate in care coordination and support a comprehensive approach to patient care.
• Advocate for patients and families and help connect them with appropriate community resources.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Complete appropriate CPT and ICD‑10‑CM coding.
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, payer requirements, organizational policies, and medical staff requirements.
• Meet established productivity and quality standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes and the patient experience.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities necessary to maintain licensure, certification, and clinical competency.

APP Supervision & Clinical Collaboration

The Pediatrician may be assigned to supervise, collaborate with, or provide required clinical oversight for up to three (3) advanced practice providers at any one time.

Responsibilities may include:

• Reviewing clinical care and documentation
• Providing clinical consultation and support
• Being available for clinical questions
• Completing required chart reviews
• Participating in quality assurance activities
• Executing supervision or collaboration agreements and other required documentation

All supervisory and collaborative responsibilities will be performed in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, licensing requirements, payer requirements, medical staff bylaws, credentials and privileges, and the authorized scope of practice of each provider.
