Job summary

Arkansas Children's Hospital in Pine Bluff is seeking a Pediatrician to provide health assessment and direct care to pediatric patients as part of the provider team.

The role requires an MD or DO, completion of a pediatric residency, and board certification or eligibility, with AR licensure eligibility. Safety-sensitive position with day shift in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completed an accredited 3-year Pediatric residency.
  • Board certified or board eligible in pediatrics; AR license eligibility noted.

Responsibilities

  • Treat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns.
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children.
  • Examine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.
  • Advise patients, parents or guardians, and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention; advise communities or institutions regarding health or safety issues.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardians.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary. Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
  • Plan and execute medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescents.
  • Prepare official health documents or records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Graduation from an accredited medical school (MD or DO)
Completed accredited 3-year Pediatric residency
