Qualifications

  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care.
  • Ability to function independently in evaluating patient problems and developing a plan for patient care.
  • Ability to discuss ethical concepts with patients and families.
  • Ability to supervise and train clinical professionals and students.
  • Maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.
  • Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and current subspecialty developments.
  • Complies with legal and ethical standards for medical care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services for patients ethically, professionally and timely.
  • Oversee medical care team and manage direct patient care for a population.
  • Provide on-call services as determined by division leadership.
  • Engage in family centered care and communicate professionally with patients and families.
  • Use chain of command and escalation policies appropriately.
  • Communicate expectations clearly to trainees and encourage questions.
