Job summary

PM Pediatric Care is expanding its pediatric urgent care team with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who have pediatric or urgent care experience. You will evaluate and treat pediatric patients in-person or via telemedicine under local clinical leadership and contribute to high-quality, evidence-based care.

Eligible candidates have ANCC/NCCPA certification, MSN/Doctoral nursing or PA studies, and at least 1–2 years of independent pediatric APP experience.

Qualifications

• Pediatric experience required; Pediatric ER, General Pediatrics, or Urgent Care experience preferred.
• Active ANCC Board Certification or NCCPA Certification.
• Active RN and NP/PA state license for each state where treating patients.
• MSN or Doctoral Nursing or PA Studies degree.
• Minimum 2 years of independent pediatric APP experience or 1 year in urgent care/ED.
• Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
• EMR experience with eCW preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat acute pediatric conditions in in-person and telemedicine visits.
• Perform urgent-care procedures: abscess drainage, foreign body removal, laceration repair.
• Interpret preliminary radiographs with radiologist over-reads.
• Oversee daily operations and patient flow on shift.
• Ensure safety, HIPAA compliance, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with on-site and telemedicine teams on tasks and follow-up.

Overview

PM Pediatric Care is the largest pediatric urgent care network in the country, dedicated to providing world‑class evidence‑based pediatric medicine and an exceptional patient experience. We offer a supportive work environment, comprehensive learning programs, and flexible scheduling (12–36 hours per week, no overnight shifts).

Description

PM Pediatric Care is hiring Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) with significant pediatric or urgent‑care/ER experience to join our team. Under the guidance of local clinical leaders, APPs evaluate and provide evidence‑based treatment to pediatric patients in an urgent care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert assessment and treatment of acute injuries and illnesses for in‑person and telemedicine patients—including febrile infant/child, ear/nose/throat infections, pediatric abdominal pain, anaphylaxis, procedural anxiolysis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma.
• Perform common urgent‑care procedures such as abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair with sutures, staples, or dermal adhesive.
• Obtain and interpret preliminary radiographs with radiologist over‑reads (where applicable).
• Oversee daily operations and patient flow for in‑person and telemedicine visits, including oversight of other providers, staff, and trainees on shift.
• Adhere to established policies, proactively report necessary changes to management, and promote efficient operations.
• Collaborate with on‑site and telemedicine teams to assure completion of daily tasks, including lab and radiology result review, patient follow‑up, and timely response to patient calls.
• Promote a safe, secure, equitable, and healthy work environment by enforcing safety protocols, upholding quality standards, and ensuring legal compliance.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Update knowledge and skills through internal training, continuing education, professional publications, and organizational participation.
• Assist with service‑recovery efforts and improve efficiency metrics such as urgent‑care flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Pediatric experience required; Pediatric ER, General Pediatrics, or Urgent Care Experience preferred.
• Active ANCC Board Certification or NCCPA Certification.
• Active RN (if applicable) and NP/PA state license for each state where treating patients.
• Master of Science in Nursing or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Master of Physician Assistant Studies required.
• Minimum 2 years of independent pediatric clinical experience as an APP (outside of rotations) or at least 1 year in urgent care or emergency medicine.
• Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
• Excellent computer skills with EMR experience (eCW preferred).
• Effective verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.

Compensation

$105,000 – $170,000 (base salary; actual may vary based on experience and location).
