Job summary

PM Pediatric Care in Newark, DE is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and the patient care team in a pediatric urgent care setting. You will assist with clinical and administrative tasks, greet patients, take histories, document vitals, and prepare patients for X-rays under physician supervision.

You will perform routine lab work, assist with wound care, manage supplies, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as Medical Assistant or related education.
• Knowledge of pediatric EKG placement.
• Ability to collect nasal swabs and venipuncture.
• Professional and friendly demeanor.
• Strong communication and organization.
• Prior pediatric experience preferred.
• Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Willing to learn medical software.
• Experience with medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures.
• Assist in wound care and irrigation as needed.
• Assist in quality control testing in the lab.
• Be part of the patient care team within the scope of practice.
• Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with supplies.
• Maintain waiting room order and cleanliness.
• Practice standard safety practices and precautions.
• Assist in emergencies and notify medical team as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations.
• Support service recovery when needed and assist patients.
• Assist with additional duties including splints and nurse/provider support.
• Provide exceptional customer services.
