Job summary

PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time role in Pompton Plains, NJ (with coverage at Paramus, NJ). You will provide clinical and administrative support, greet patients, take histories and vitals, prepare patients for X-ray, and assist with labs and wound care under physician supervision.

The position emphasizes pediatric care, teamwork, and a customer-service mindset, with a compensation range of $18–$26 per hour and a focus on patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience or education as a Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
• Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture.
• Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor; strong communication.
• Prior pediatric experience preferred.
• Proficient with computers; willing to learn medical software.
• Experience with medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients; obtain medical history and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for X-rays; perform routine labs.
• Irrigate and assist with wounds; assist in lab quality control testing.
• Assist in patient care within scope of practice; keep exam rooms and waiting area stocked.
• Maintain safety practices and protect patient confidentiality.
• Respond to emergencies and notify medical team when needed.
• Assist nurse/provider with procedures and apply splints as needed.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and assist with service recovery when appropriate.
