Job summary

Connecticut Children's is seeking a Rehabilitation Aide to support therapists and clinicians in pediatric rehabilitation. Under supervision, you will assist with patient treatment setup, transfers, and non-clinical tasks, ensuring safety and cleanliness.

This on-site role requires strong teamwork, basic medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to travel to different locations as needed. High School Diploma required; hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher education equivalent required.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and basic medical terminology.
• Good communication, teamwork, organization and critical thinking; able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients; greeting patients, bringing them to location of therapy, notifying therapist of their arrival.
• Provide physical assistance for treatment sessions as directed by therapist; aide does not perform clinical procedures.
• Set up and take down treatment area to assist with efficient and effective sessions (retrieve equipment such as wheelchairs, walking devices, testing supplies).
• Environmental safety and cleanliness: perform safety rounds, clean therapy equipment and organize treatment/patient waiting areas.
• Monitor and maintain supply stock; assist with ordering and stocking items (linen, testing supplies, crutches, etc.).
• Perform administrative duties as needed (check-in/out patients, copy, fax documents, answer phones, prepare/send records).
• Perform special projects as requested by management.
• Develop cooperative working relationships and maintain them.
• Adheres to hospital policies, privacy requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and respects patient rights.
• Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
