Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR, seeks a full-time pediatric surgeon to join the faculty. Board certified or board eligible candidates must maintain an Oregon medical license and fellowship training is welcomed.

The faculty member will lead our missions of healing, teaching, and discovery, with a busy practice spanning neonatal, minimally invasive, oncologic, trauma, fetal and ECMO care across two hospital systems.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible pediatric surgeon.
• Oregon medical license required.
• Fellowship training in pediatric surgery welcomed or required as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a busy clinical practice including neonatal, minimally invasive, oncologic, trauma, fetal and ECMO care.
• Engage in teaching pediatric surgery fellows, residents and medical students.
• Contribute to healing, teaching and discovery at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Job description

The Division of Pediatric Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is seeking a full-time pediatric surgeon to join the faculty. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible and be able to maintain an Oregon State medical license. Experienced physicians and those directly from fellowship are welcomed to apply.

The faculty member will engage in leading our missions of healing, teaching, and discovery. Oregon Health & Science University has an excellent ACGME accredited General Surgery Residency Program and Pediatric Surgery Fellowship with a strong national reputation. Candidates must demonstrate clinical excellence in the management of pediatric surgical conditions and a passion for teaching pediatric surgery fellows, general surgical residents and medical students.

OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital is verified as a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and a Level 1 Site for Children's Surgery by the American College of Surgeons. Responsibilities include a busy clinical practice incorporating complex neonatal, minimally invasive, oncologic, trauma, fetal, and ECMO care spanning two hospital systems. As the state's only health and research university, OHSU brings together patient care, research, education and community service to improve the health and well-being of all Oregonians. Patients from Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, Montana and Northern California are referred for care.
