Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Central Sterile Technician - Pediatric - PRN to perform decontamination, sterilization and instrument preparation in the Pediatric Sterile Processing department.

The role requires at least 3 years of Sterile Processing experience, CSPDT or CRCST certification, and strong knowledge of safety practices and inventory control. This PRN position offers benefits and opportunities to support pediatric surgical care on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of maintenance and sterilization of medical supplies and equipment.
Advanced knowledge of applicable sanitation and hygiene standards.
Advanced knowledge of proper safety practices of steam and gas plasma sterilization.
Advanced knowledge of record keeping principles and practices.
Proficient in basic computer functions and programs.

Responsibilities

Assembles and wraps instrument sets.
Ensures proper use of sterilized sonic cleaners and other related equipment.
Delivers surgical instruments on a timely basis.
Thoroughly inspects instruments to ensure all instruments are clean and in good repair prior to sterilization.
Decontaminates instruments using proper chemical mixtures and procedures.
Tests, operates, and loads autoclaves.
Completes sterilization log sheets.
Pulls needed supplies and instruments to prepare and maintain accurate Case Carts.
Coordinates with operating room staff to ensure supplies for each case are delivered as needed.
