Job summary

Cook Children\'s Health Care System in Mansfield seeks a staff speech pathologist to provide in-patient and/or out-patient services focusing on pediatric feeding, swallowing, articulation, voice, resonance, language and AAC assessment.

Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment and home programming, patient and caregiver education, and collaboration with clinics and community providers. BLS within 30 days; state licensure or eligibility; CCC-SLP or eligible within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology is required.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment is required.
• State license or eligible for state licensure.
• Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology, or eligible for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year and must be obtained within 12 months of hire to maintain employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-patient and/or out-patient services focusing on functional skills to enhance development and restore function.
• Address feeding and swallowing disorders, articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and receptive/expressive language issues.
• Provide aural rehabilitation/auditory verbal therapy for hearing loss or cochlear implant and evaluate for augmentative communication devices.
• Educate patients and caregivers and consult with other professionals, clinics, and community agencies.
• Document and communicate per department and system policies.
