Job summary

Leaps and Bounds Pediatric Therapy is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Speech Therapy team in Norco, California. We provide family-centered, 1:1 care across traditional clinical settings and our ranch, incorporating hippotherapy as part of a comprehensive plan.

You will assess, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and educators to support children’s communication goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide family-centered patient care to pediatric patients with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Perform assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results; plan and implement treatment leading to functional improvement.
  • Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians or by prescription.
  • Help patients achieve goals through therapeutic activities and use of devices and strategies.
  • Discharge planning by coordinating with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care staff; contribute to patient care.
  • Document services in patient and department records in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and protect clinic operations as required by law.
  • Ensure a clean, safe working environment by following procedures and regulations.
  • Stay current with infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies.
  • Support staff development by providing information and conducting in-service training.
  • Stay informed about federal, state, and local regulations; assist management with necessary actions.

Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice in need of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. We are a growing and fast-paced campus that offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting, as well as on our ranch, with the incorporation of the horse as part of a comprehensive evidence-based plan (hippotherapy.). SLP Job Duties include:

A Speech Language Pathologist-Pediatrics delivers excellent family-centered patient care, that aims to support functional goals and needs of the patient and their family. SLPs perform assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results; determines speech therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription, and carries out a treatment plan that supports functional improvement across the lifespan.

  • Provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining speech therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
  • Help patient accomplish goals outlined in treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices and strategies.
  • Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protects clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Develop speech therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, but providing these services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP, as needed.

Compensation Range Based On Experience: $89,440 - $118,560
