UVA Health Continuum Home Health Care seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide in-home assessment and treatment for newborns and pediatric patients. Join a regional interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the home environment.

The role emphasizes comprehensive evaluations, intervention planning, and collaboration with UVA Health clinicians. On-call and travel within Central Virginia are part of the position, with a clinical ladder and onboarding program

Qualifications

  • Master's in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • 6 months relevant experience preferred.
  • Virginia licensure required; CFY/CCC certification preferred.
  • AHA BLS certification required; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations for newborn and pediatric patients in the home.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and provides a skilled speech therapy program; pediatric feeding therapy experience preferred.
  • Participates in professional growth and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contributes to program development and professional collaboration.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
6 months relevant experience
Licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology (Virginia Board)
CFY eligibility or CCC certification

About This Opportunity

At UVA Continuum Home Health Care, you will use your skills as a speech-language pathologist to provide care to newborn and pediatric clients in their homes. We offer direct clinical care SLP jobs, providing high-level quality patient care in the community. As a home healthcare clinician, you are responsible for assessing, identifying, planning, and providing care with each patient in the home environment.

Our home health therapists work collaboratively to develop and implement a patient-centered plan of care for each client. Our SLP's provide care to patients as part of regional interdisciplinary teams. As a home health therapist, you will work closely with community health providers, UVA Health, and others to ensure the safe delivery of care in the home. Our home care clinicians are challenged professionally, supported by a strong clinical leadership team and have a high degree of professional satisfaction.

UVA Continuum Home Health Care offers our therapy clinicians autonomy in their professional practice, provides scheduling support while also allowing self-scheduling and provides mileage reimbursement at the Federal level. We offer career advancement via our clinical ladder. We do not require candidates to have previous home care or OASIS experience. We provide an extensive onboarding orientation/training program for all new therapy clinicians who join our team.

What can you expect in this role?
  • Conducts comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations for newborn and pediatric patients, including those with medically complex conditions, in accordance with professional standards and departmental guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled speech therapy intervention. In addition, experience in pediatric feeding therapy and interventions, including feeding development, oral-motor, and feeding difficulties is preferred.
  • Actively participates in professional growth of self and others.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement and program development.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience: 6 months relevant experience
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology from the Virginia Board of Examiners for Audiology and Speech Pathology required. Eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or certified with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Valid Driver's License required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, humidity, heat, blood/body fluids, infectious disease and dust.

The pay range for this role is $76,398.40 - $122,241.60 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
