Job summary

The Speech Language Pathologist will provide therapeutic services to children with language, speech, or hearing disorders and to consult classroom teachers and parents on how to appropriately help the child progress in his/her communicative development.

Therapy sessions, standardized testing, and collaboration with teachers and families will be essential to monitor progress and support IEP goals, AAC implementation, and classroom integration throughout the school year.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • At least 1 year of full-time experience with children birth to six with speech-language disorders.
  • Experience with augmentative communication devices.
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff and administration.
  • Ability to complete records and progress notes in a timely manner.
  • License-Exempt qualifications for DHR (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and/or group therapy sessions for language/speech/hearing disorders in classroom settings.
  • Provide consultative services to teachers and parents on communicative development and AAC.
  • Lead AAC evaluations and train teachers to use AAC in class.
  • Collect data, write reports, and maintain records to track progress.
  • Coordinate therapy services and schedules with school staff and providers.
  • Report to directors and maintain family communications regarding progress.
