Job description

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) / Open to Clinical Fellow (CF)

Location: Batesville, Arkansas
Setting: Pediatric Early Intervention / Developmental Day Treatment
Employment: Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN, or Contract
Compensation: 45- 69 per billable-hour equivalent, based on pediatric experience
Schedule: Flexible Weekday Schedule | No Weekends

About the Opportunity

A well-established pediatric early intervention and developmental day treatment facility in Batesville, AR, is actively seeking Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Clinical Fellows (CFs) to join its collaborative, multidisciplinary therapy team.

This unique setting combines the benefits of outpatient pediatric therapy with a developmental preschool environment, allowing clinicians to work directly with children throughout their day rather than relying on traditional outpatient appointments.

Therapists have the opportunity to provide individualized, relationship-centered care while collaborating closely with teachers, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to support meaningful progress in children's everyday environments.

The facility emphasizes neuroaffirming care, sensory integration, connection over compliance, and understanding the underlying reasons behind a child's behavior.

Both experienced pediatric SLPs and new graduates seeking a supportive Clinical Fellowship experience are encouraged to apply!

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is structured around the clinician's pediatric experience, selected weekly billable-hours target, and number of weeks worked annually.

  • Compensation Scale: $45-$69 per billable-hour equivalent, based on experience

  • Additional Evaluation Pay: $10 per evaluation hour

  • Productivity Bonuses: Additional compensation for billable hours exceeding the target

  • Potential Sign-On Bonus: Considered for highly qualified candidates

  • Relocation Assistance: May be available on an individual basis

  • Health Insurance: Employer-subsidized medical coverage for eligible full-time employees, with HSA and FSA plan options

  • Dental & Vision Insurance: Optional coverage available

  • Additional Elective Benefits: Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, cancer and accident coverage

  • Professional License Renewal Reimbursement

  • Continuing Education Support: Funding for relevant professional development and advanced clinical training

  • Professional Liability Coverage

  • Leadership & Mentorship Opportunities

Flexible Scheduling & Work-Life Balance

This position offers an unusually flexible scheduling structure, allowing clinicians to have meaningful input into their workweek and annual schedule.

  • Primary Therapy Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

  • Full-time, part-time, PRN, and temporary/contract opportunities available

  • No weekend requirements

  • Flexibility to structure daily hours around patient care and productivity expectations

  • Potential for a condensed workweek, depending on caseload and coverage needs

  • Ability to select the number of weeks worked annually, with up to four weeks PTO

  • Nine separate holidays

  • Salaried clinicians maintain their established salary during patient absences, subject to agreed productivity expectations

Rather than requiring every clinician to follow the same schedule, the facility works with therapists to establish a realistic billable-hours target and annual work schedule that aligns with their professional and personal goals.

Patient Population & Treatment Approach

The facility serves children with moderate developmental delays and complex developmental needs, including autism, Down syndrome, spina bifida, communication disorders, feeding difficulties, and other developmental conditions.

Speech Therapy Services Include:

  • Receptive and expressive language development

  • Articulation and speech sound disorders

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

  • Feeding therapy

  • Functional communication and social participation

  • Individualized interventions integrated into classroom activities and daily routines

Treatment Structure:

  • Primarily individualized, one-on-one therapy

  • Treatment sessions typically 15, 30, or 45 minutes

  • Evaluations ranging from 30–120 minutes, depending on clinical needs

  • Access to dedicated therapy rooms, sensory areas, and classroom environments

  • Established pediatric population on-site throughout the program day

  • Documentation generally completed during the final minutes of treatment sessions

A major advantage of this setting is the ability to observe children in their natural environments, collaborate with their care teams, and help therapy skills carry over into everyday activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pediatric speech-language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans

  • Provide evidence-based intervention addressing speech, language, feeding, AAC, and functional communication needs

  • Collaborate with teachers, nurses, caregivers, and other therapy disciplines

  • Incorporate developmentally appropriate, neuroaffirming, and relationship-centered treatment approaches

  • Monitor progress and modify treatment plans to support functional outcomes

  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

  • Active Arkansas SLP license or eligibility for appropriate state licensure

  • Clinical Fellows and new graduates are welcome

  • Pediatric experience preferred, particularly with developmental disabilities, feeding, AAC, autism, or early intervention

  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Compassionate, dependable, and eager to continue learning

Clinical Fellowship Supervision Available: New graduates join an established speech therapy department with experienced SLPs who provide mentorship, supervision, and clinical support.

Team Culture & Professional Growth

This facility is known for its highly collaborative, supportive environment and commitment to continued learning.

SLPs work alongside an established multidisciplinary team that includes approximately five Speech-Language Pathologists, as well as occupational therapists, physical therapists, teachers, nurses, and support staff.

The clinical philosophy emphasizes understanding each child's individual needs, adapting the environment to support success, and building meaningful relationships with children and families.

Experienced clinicians may also have opportunities to participate in mentorship, program development, and therapy leadership initiatives.
